The plot to oust Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State resumed Sunday as loyalists of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq have allegedly stormed Abuja for a Press Conference aimed to stopping his confirmation by the Bai Mala Buni led caretaker committee.
The State PRO of the party who is a loyalists of the Governor, Alhaji Tajudeen Folaranmi Aro when pressed for comment told National Pilot around past 3:am that he will comment after the press conference today.
Several calls to the embattled chairman, Bolarinwa were not answered last night.
Reports which went viral in many social media platform last night said some executive members loyal to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has concluded plan to organize press conference on Monday January 11, 2021 to advise Buni-led National Caretaker Committee not to issue appointment letter to BOB on account of imaginary suspension.
Quoting a credible source, the report said “AA loyalists have received mobilization to storm APC National Secretariat on Monday to present their resolution to Buni-led committee adding that the desperation of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his loyalists to take over party structure ahead of APC membership revalidation/registration may destroy the party ahead 2023 general elections.
Another report also quoted a loyalist of Bolarinwa to have confirmed the development and the new move to oust BOB.
“We’re aware of renewed attempts to declare a minority faction which is aimed at giving life to the ongoing intense lobbying to rescind the appointment and inauguration of Hon. Bolarinwa as caretaker Chair.
“Some loyalists of the Governor are presently in Abuja, doing everything humanly possible to frustrate the smooth running of the party, I learnt they’re running from pillar to post to ensure BOB is replaced.
“To give life to the lies they’ve been bandying around Abuja, they plan to address the press announcing BOB’s suspension which will later be commuted to outright removal from office.
“The BOB camp are however unperturbed, even though we’re not leaving anything to chances. We’re rest assured APC is a party of the people, with very strong and intimidating progressives credentials, so I can assured you the latest plot will also fail, like those before it” he said.
