Kwara Chess Association gets royal blessing from Olofa

The Olofa of Offa, His Royal Highness, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II has showered encomium on the Kwara State Chess Association in its efforts to develop the game at the grassroots level.
Olofa, who gave the commendation yesterday during a courtesy visit to his palace in Offa by the members of the association led by the Director of Sports, Coach Alarape Atanda, promised to support the association’s quest to promote the game of chess in Offa community.
Oba Gbadamosi, while acknowledging the visit of the association to his palace, also appreciated them for staging the second edition of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Open Chess Competition tagged: “Governor’s Challenge; season 2” in his town.
In his address, the Chairman of Kwara Chess Association, Abdulrasheed Aiyelabegan appreciated the gesture of Olofa of Offa for receiving the team in his palace.
The chess tourney is billed to hold in the ancient town of Offa between February 6th and 8th, 2021, at Offa Grammar School, Offa.
