The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State has urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to concentrate on governance, instead of wasting the State’s resources on APC crisis.
The advice was part of a communiqué issued at the end of stakeholders meeting of the party weekend in Ilorin signed by the LG party Chairman, Alh. Busari Folorunso, an elder in the LG., Alhaji Saadudeen Ajelanwa and the LG Assistant Party Secretary, Mallam Momonu Yunus.
Part of the communiqué reads:
“WE have noted with great concern, the incursion of bandits and kidnappers into the Council area, especially with the recent kidnapping and torturing of Mrs. Salamatu Yunusa and Mallam Abdulrahman Ishola, both were kidnapped in their Sokoto village of Asa LG recently.
“The victims had to pay N1.4m ransom before they were released by their abductors after spending four days in captivity. We, however called on the security agencies to rise up to the occasion of protecting the life and property of the people of the area.
“We decried the insensitivity of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the State, under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman to the spate of security challenges facing the people of the area. We urged the Governor to concentrate on governance, instead of wasting the State’s resources on APC crisis.
“Concerned with the poor conditions of Gamo-Afon-Aboto-Oja Road; Afon-Eyekorin-Ballah-Alapa Road and Odo-Ode-Ikotun Road, including the collapsed culvert at Ago-Oja Community in Asa LGA of the State, where an unsuspecting private car ditched, leaving occupants of the car with varying degrees of injury. It was therefore agreed to call on the State government to fix these roads which have affected the socio-economic activities of the area.
“It was also reiterated the resolve to remain committed, steadfast and focused in reinforcing and expanding the party base in the area, especially ahead of the forthcoming general elections. It thus, commended the party members for their commitment and sacrifice all this while.
