When court surprisingly terminated client’s case after 2yrs – Gegele

Barrister Tunde Gegele was part of the first set of diploma student of law at Kwara State Polytechnic, 1977. He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to obtain his LL.B Hons between 1983 – 1986, graduated at the Victoria Island Lagos Law School in1987 and was called to Bar on March 17th, 1988. The Principal Counsel of Galadima chamber was also onetime staff of the Kwara state judiciary before he was promoted to principal registrar and later appointed magistrate in 1989. In this interview with PILOT LAW, he gives insight into the most memorable moment of his 28 years career at the bar and bench. Excerpts:
There are quite a number of dramatic moments in court, there was this case of Dr Bayo, a veterinarian one, he was a Sales Reps at a Pharmaceutical company, that also deal in animal feeds, he was posted to Maiduguri and he had some financial problems and went wrong along the line thereby leading to his involvement in what landed him in trouble. He was arrested and detained in Lagos as at the time we got there, the case has been on hearing at Magistrate Court, Ikeja, for about two years I was plying the road to Lagos from here until one day we made an application and the case was terminated, I was overjoyed.
