KWARTMA harps on road maintenance culture for motorists

The Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA) has assured members of the general public of the agency readiness at all times toward making linking roads across the three senatorial districts in the state motorable all year round.
The chairman of the agency, Alhaji Rufai Bolakale Oloje made this known in a statement by the Press Secretary, Sam Bola Onile over the weekend and made available to National Pilot.
According to the chairman, ‘No stone would be left unturned toward ensuring our roads are pot hole free to facilitate smooth transportation of goods and services for the benefit of the masses.
Oloje also implored the general public to imbibe maintenance culture on roads as well desist from dumping refuse before and during the raining season to avoid flooding that could lead to loss of lives and property. He further called on the public to notify appropriate quarters before embarking on cutting of the roads.
Oloje added that presently construction of culvert is going on at Ago-Oja in Asa local government while the interlocking at Agbo-Oba and Magaji Ngeri linking Surulere are still ongoing.
“Others include construction of culvert at Sinawu in Okuta and Wiruma leading to New-Busa in Baruten and Kaiama local government areas as well as patching of Bamigboye road and Oke-Essay linking Olomu market in Omu – Aran”.
He called on residents of Idi-Agba, Aibinu, Alfa Yahaya to be patient that works on construction of drainages and laying of interlock to ease vehicular movement in the area are on the way.
He added that the development is part of measure by the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq led administration to sustain urban renewaer project across the state that would promote socio -economic development toward facilitating more development in the state.
