Provost wants health sector prioritize in budget

The Provost of Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery College, llorin, Alhaji Imam Abubakar Ayinla
has urged government at all levels to make high budgetary provision for the health sector.
He made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in his office, recently.
He noted that if health sector is prioritized in budgetary allocation, it would help boost healthcare service delivery particularly at the grassroots level.
The Provost also charged government to diversify the economy of the nation, to expand the employment base more people in the agricultural value chain for economic prosperity of individuals and the nation.
“The National Assembly should look at various options to make life more meaningful to the citizens of this country, common man needs succour for better life to rural dwellers in face of daunting economic challenges.”
However, Ayinla advised upcoming professional nurses/midwives “to be focused, determined, disciplined, believe in themselves, persevere, put God first and allow Him to direct their path,”
He emphasized that the edict of year 2006 that established the college has as its aims and objectives, to produce manpower resources for health care delivery.
“Having more trainers/health workers will reduce diseases in our society and environment drastically. Our college has served dual roles of pool for manpower resources and research orbit for other colleges in the country.
The college administrator was full of praises to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support to the college at all fronts, “The current administration in the state has been impactful. We lived up to our mandate efficiently and the state government has provided enabling environment to deliver quality training and re-training of our staff” he added.
The Provost thanked his management team for unflinching support and commitment displayed so far.
He charged the management team to maintain the tempo of success, understanding and continue to deliver on mandate.”
