Nigerians should stop linking Dapchi girls’ abductors to Muslims – Yusuf Ali

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN), Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, at the weekend, warned against linking Dapchi girls’ abduction to Muslims.
He said the religion of Islam does not preach violence nor does it propagate any form of illicit act such as Book Haram insurgency.
“I’ve not seen any aspect of propagation of Boko Haram that’s Islamic. There is no place in Islam that states that a man should take life of his fellow other than the execution of the valid judgement of a court of law.
“If Boko Haram are Muslims, why are they bombing mosques and killing Muslims. Muslims are the greatest victims of their dastard act. It is however wrong to link the killings to Muslims. It is important we do an in depth study of who Boko Haram are,” he stated.
Ali, who was recently named the Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) made this known while receiving members of the group at his Chamber, Ghalib Chambers, Unity road Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
He further called on Muslims and Christians to accommodate one another for the overall development of Nigeria.
The legal practitioner pointed out that no meaningful development can be attained in the atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
According to him, affluent Muslims should always contribute immensely to the activities of Islamic associations to earn Allah’s reward.
In his remark, the National Coordinator, MMWG, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi applauded Ali for providing both financial and moral assistance to the organisation.
He however appealed to government at all levels to find lasting solution to insecurity in the country.
