Insecurity: I will make Kwara State uncomfortable for kidnappers – New Kwara CP

The newly deployed Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Tuesday Amienbo, has declared war against crime and criminalities in the stare saying that he will make the state uncomfortable for kidnappers.

The new Police boss made this known during a press conference held at the police command, Ilorin on Friday.

Amienbo disclosed further that, he had established a vibrant tactical team to tackle criminal activities in the state.

He explained that, cultists, cybercrime activities and all other forms of vices that are anti-social behaviours will be dealt with.

“Structure has been made to fight had insecurity in the state, members of the public should put their mind at rest.”

Amienbo further said that he would work with vigilante and other non-state actors, to leverage community policing principles in combating crimes in the state.

He, thus, warned criminals to pack their bags and relocate from the state “or else they will have themselves to blame”.

Speaking on the social media commentators, he said so many cases like that are on ground and the command will investigate it adding that no politicians will be allowed to draw the command to work unprofessionally.

“We will not allow any politicians to draw police officers to act unprofessional as every matter will be dealt with professionally.”

The police boss also said that he was committed to wiping out criminality of all shapes and modes.

“We want to assure the good people of Kwara State that they have no reason to fear, panic or be threatened, as the police under my control are aware and are sufficiently briefed on my zero tolerance for indiscipline and negligence on the part of any policeman found in any unprofessional conduct.

“I wish to assure the good people of Kwara State of my determination to put into maximum use all strategies that will help me in achieving this onerous objective.

“I want to use this rare opportunity to solicit for the corporation of all and sundry, especially the traditional institutions, religious organisations, civil society organisations, student bodies, professional bodies and members of the security community in the state in achieving this objective so that the good people of Kwara State can sleep at night with their two eyes closed. While the Command under my watch will operate an open-door policy, we shall be simple but firm in our attitude towards good service delivery to our people.

“I am also using this medium to assure sister services of my readiness, as a team player, to work hand in glove with them to consolidate the achievements recorded in the state before my arrival and to also make the state uncomfortable, especially for kidnappers, cultists, cybercriminals and all other forms of vices and anti-social behaviours, thus warning criminals to pack their bags and relocate from this state or else they will have themselves to blame.

“As a professional police officer, I want to inform members of the public that we are here to perform our constitutional duties in line with our professional callings and as such ready to do just that.”
