The Federal Road Service Corps (FRSC) has asked motorists travelling to or from the south-west via the Kabba-Omuo Ekiti federal highway to take alternative routes.
The motorists have been asked to use Kabba, Asaya, Ogidi and Ikare as alternative routes to or from the south-east.
Bisi Kazeem, FRSC spokesperson, in a statement shared with newsmen at the weekend, said the development is a result of a failed section of the road at Iyara LGA of Kogi state.
Kazeem said the federal ministry of works and housing is already working towards ameliorating the situation.
“Members of the motoring public and general commuters travelling from or to Southwest, through Kabba-Omuo Ekiti Federal Highway are hereby notified of a failed section of the road at Ikoyi under Iyara local government area of Kogi state,” the statement reads.
“This development has led to lack of free flow of traffic at the said portion of the road.
“In view of the foregoing, motorists, travelers, and the general public are hereby advised to use Kabba/Asaya/Ogidi/Ikare as alternative routes to or from the south-west. The federal ministry of works and housing is already activating appropriate action to ameliorate the situation.”
