Nat’l Pilot meets Newspapers/Magazine vendors

A day business meeting between the management of National Pilot Newspaper and the Newspapers/Magazines Dealers Association of Nigeria, Kwara State was held at the corporate office of the medium on Monday.

In his welcome address, the MD/Editor-in-Chief, National Pilot Newspaper, Alhaji Billy Adedamola, thanked all the association members in attendance and made known to those present the purpose of organising the meeting. Alhaji Adedamola narrated the challenges being faced by the organization in the area of sales and urged members present to proffer solution(s).

He further said that the emergence of social media has jeopardised level of sales being recorded. Though, this is not peculiar to only this medium; but print media houses generally across the world.

He also said, this meeting is aimed at acquainting the Management with the association and to be able to make more profits on the two sides.

In his address, the Chairman of the association, Mr. Olayiwola Osasona rejoiced with the medium for being on the newsstand despite the economy situation of the country. He said: “most of the contemporaries in the newspaper industry are down and some layed-off workers as a result of the state of the economy and the social media that has been put into use globally.

In their words, most of the speakers at the event advised the Management to make marketing priority in the organization, by providing Souvenirs likes Polo Shirt, Cap and Apron customized to serve as a source of advertising the Company and her products.

At the occasion, three members of the association were rewarded for their excellent performance. They are: Alhaji Lasisi Adewuyi, Tajudeen Akande and Azeez Jimoh (Jones).

Present at the occasion are founding fathers of the association like Alhaji Lasis Adewuyi, Mustapha Alubarika, past chairmen, other executives and other members of the association.
