Bloody attack in Kaiama as farmers, herders clash

There was pandemonium in Salude Village, Kaiama, Local Government Area as Fulani herders and farmers engaged in bloody attack which resulted in one of the duo group inflicted with serious injury.

It was gathered that, growing incidences of Fulani herders and farmers clashes in that area continued unabated which emanated to another face-off between two warring families which resulted in the matchete attack on a member of one of the families.

The outcome of the bloody attack left Abubakar Sulade, 16, with a deep cut in his right hand while the assailants are still at large.

The NSCDC spokesman, Kwara State Command Babawale Afolabi who confirmed the incident stated that the matter was reported at NSCDC’s Divisional Office in Kaiama and manhunt has been launched for the assailant and his accomplice.

“There has been a long term face off between two families over a grazing land which took a bloody turn recently when one family attacked others with matchete which resulted in the grievous bodily harm to one Abubakar Sulade, 16, who got a deep cut on his hand. He was reportedly attacked by one Bugi Juli who is still at large.” Afolabi narrated.

He explained further that NSCDC has increased its surveillance and patrol in the neighborhood adding that the victim has been successfully treated in the hospital while further investigations are ongoing and there is a move to invite the warring families for peace meeting.
