The political sky of country especially Lagos State might be taking a cloud as leading political movement in the state Lagos4Lagos has in Saturday decamped enmasse into the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This political union was actualized by the immediate past President of the Nigerian Senate ,Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who welcomed the group into the party, led by the convener Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (popularly known as Jandor), in Lagos.
Saraki while addressing the massive crowd ,asked they’re all interested in joining the PDP, he said “All those in favour of the #Lagos4Lagos movement moving to the PDP, say: ‘Aye!’”.
The crowd screamed ‘Aye’ and the seasoned legislator in reminisce of his style while serving as the President of the 8th Senate, replied, “‘Ayes’ have it! Welcome”
This is seen as major win for the leading opposition party and Saraki who is also one of the leading presidential hopefuls in the party With the 2023 general elections just around the corner.
If you recall, in a similar event few months ago, No fewer than 700 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the African Democratic Congress across wards in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
The defectors who cut across all the wards in Irepodun LGA of the state claimed to belong to Lai Mohammed and Hon. Raheem Olawuyi groups in the ruling APC government in the state.
According to the group’s website, “Jandor Foundation, is a strategically positioned organization, committed to building structures that offer hope to the indigent in our society.
“In a season where hope is missing, we are identified as restorer of hope. We are committed to human empowerment, sustainable mental growth, excellence, innovation, empathy, community service and creativity.
“Jandor Foundation takes the lead where empowerment is concerned and we pride ourselves with a mission of building a sustainable society on the fundamentals of peace, hope and tranquility.”
The group has for a while been an aggrieved splinter group within the All Progressives Congress, APC, before dumping the party for PDP.
