Arsenal make Unai Emery sack decision following dismal draw with Southampton

Arsenal boss Unai Emery will not be sacked following the 2-2 draw with
Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Gunners are set to reassess the Spaniard’s position after the
December 9 clash with West Ham.
The Gunners have now not won a Premier League match in two months.
But the decision was made to look at the next four top flight games
after the international break as a block before making a call on
Emery’s future.
The first was against Southampton which ended 2-2 at the Emirates on Saturday.
The next three see Arsenal take on Norwich, Brighton and West Ham –
all games which are seen as winnable by the club hierarchy.
The board still believe Emery has the vision to turn things around at
the Emirates.
And the majority of the players are also still behind him.
Emery has admitted his concern though over the lack of connection
between his players and the supporters at the moment.
He said: “I understand the supporters. They are now frustrated,
disappointed and angry. The players feel the same.
“My job is to work, analyse and find a solution for how we can
improve. I know the key is here to take confidence, to achieve the
points, the good performances at home and then to take that away.
“The key is here with our supporters. I know that and the players also
know that.
“Our target was to win this evening but above all, to connect. We
didn’t do that.
“We lost a very big opportunity and now we will analyse and work on a
solution for the next matches.”
Arsenal are next in action against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa
League on Thursday.
