Four in trouble after attacking vigilante, destroy car

Police have arraigned five suspects before an Ilorin magistrate court on Monday, for attacking a vigilante by the name Muritala Ajibaye and destroying his car in the process.

The police report obtained by National Pilot revealed that Ajibaye while returning from work while driving in his Toyota Camry was attacked by the suspects, Hamza Mohammed,20; Ola Olupako,20; Jordan Yero,23; Kehinde Ayoku,20 and others still at large.

Charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, causing hurt contrary to section 97, 396 & 266 of penal code law, the assailants were said to have wielded sticks, stones and other dangerous weapons.

It was stated that the quartet criminally conspired together and attacked the victim, Ajibaye, where they inflicted injury on his left hand and damaged the windscreen of his Toyota Camry.

The prosecutor, Inspector Nosiru Yusuf urged the court to remand the accused at the prison due to the severity of their offense and also to allow the police conclude their investigation, while the defense counsel led by,  T.M Onaolapo pleaded that the accused be released on bail.

Magistrate Ibrahim Mohammed in his ruling obliged to the plea of the Prosecutor, ordering the suspects be remanded in prison, the case was also adjourned till 1st of February for further mention.
