Lagos PDP Congress: Phillips Abiodun eyes Chairmanship slot

As all concerned stakeholders are getting prepared for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos State Congress which was earlier cancelled for some reasons, some onlookers who are political pundits have said that Dr. Philips Adebiyi Abiodun is likely to emerge as the new state chairman of the party.
It was gathered that the Congress has been rescheduled for 19th of February, 2022 at a venue to be decided by the party, with four notable members of the opposition party contesting for the state chairmanship position.
According to one of the party chieftains, who is also a stakeholder who pleaded anonymous in a chat with newsmen at the weekend said Dr. Adebiyi Abiodun Phillips, a Chartered Administrator from Chartered Institute of Administration may win the race.
He said, “To me and some stakeholders of our party in Lagos and in Southwest Phillips is more qualified among other contenders because he’s well-grounded and full of experiences.
Phillips will help the party, as an independent candidate without a godfather, that’s what the kind of person our party needs at this point in time.
“Other three contestants are been sponsored by the duo of Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George, Dr. Ogunkelu and Dr. Ade Dosumu. He said the likes of Dr. Fawole who is the candidate of Chief Olabode George, Niyi Adams is the candidate of Dr. Ogunkelu and Capt Tunji Shelle rtd while Hon Aivoji is the candidate of Dr. Ade Dosumu.
“What we want now in our party wants is an independent candidate who will work with all the camps and unite the party, Phillips will reposition the party and prepare the party for winning come 2023.
“Having been following the write-ups of all the four major aspirants, Dr. Phillips is second to none. He is well-determined and he is rolling out what he will do if given the chance”; said the source.
