Baba Lagbaji’s death, a great loss to Ilorin, Islam – Saraki
Former President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed sadness over the demise of the popular Islamic Scholar, Grand Khalifa Zumuratu-l-Mumeen Al-argbaji, Sheikh Abdullahi Yusuf Adaara popularly called Baba Lagbaji.
Saraki in a condolence message signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, described the late Sheikh Adaara as an Islamic cleric who served his Creator and humanity with high sense of commitment and dedication. His death is a great loss to Ilorin Emirate and Islam.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Saraki, commiserated with the Agbaji community, the Council of Ulamas and the entire Muslim ummah in Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
“The death of Baba Lagbaji, Sheikh Abdullahi Yusuf Adaara, is sad and a huge loss to the Agbaji community. As a tutor and preacher, a lot of people received his valued counsel and affection. He will be greatly missed.
“Baba Lagbaji was a father figure, role model, Islamic symbol and a community leader in his right. He was committed to teaching and development of Islamic principles in Ilorin and beyond.
“Sheikh Abdullahi Yusuf Adaara was a respected and well known Islamic cleric in Ilorin Emirate who promoted the teachings and principles of Islam through out his lifetime. He will always be remembered for his contributions to the growth of Islam in Ilorin and beyond,” he added.
Saraki prayed Almighty Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him into Aljanah Firdaus and grant his family, students and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
