Setback For Kwara APC As Tribunal Nullifies 26-year old Rukayat Shittu ‘s Victory

The election petition tribunal sitting in Ilorin has nullified the victory of Miss Rukayat Shittu of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the Owode-Onire constituency of Asa Local Governments Area, Kwara State, over the petition filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Yinusa Magaji.
The tribunal in the ruling held that rerun elections be held in five polling units of the constituency.
26-year-old Rukayat was declared winner of the Owode-Onire constituency in the general election held earlier in the year and was known to be the youngest member of the state House of Assembly.
Also,the Tribunal upheld Taiwo Afolabi’s victory of Odo-Ogun State Constituency Election in Kwara
