The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in a double homicide at the Insomnia Night Club, located in the Tanke Oke-odo area. The arrested individuals—Ridwan Alabi (alias Boshi), Taiye Sulieman (alias Sly), and Adebayo Abibullahi (alias Bibson)—were captured at their hideout in the Tipper Garage area following a prompt and efficient investigation.

The tragic incident took place in the early hours of May 30th of this year. The victims, 22-year-old Useni Usman and 25-year-old Sulieman Garba, were attacked and murdered by the suspects, who are alleged members of the Eiye Secret Cult Confraternity.

During a press briefing at the Kwara State Police headquarters in Ilorin, Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya detailed the successful operation. He revealed that the police recovered several items at the crime scene, including two locally made firearms, a battle axe, expended cartridges, live ammunition, and two unregistered vehicles.

CP Olaiya further stated that the suspects admitted to their roles in the crime during questioning. They also identified three other accomplices—Oluwanishola Yunus Olayinka (alias Yinka Bullet), Sodia Ajibola (alias JB), and Biola (alias B Red)—who remain at large. The police are continuing their efforts to locate and apprehend these additional suspects.

Olaiya also revealed that the Kwara State Police Command thwarted an initiation ceremony by the Aiye cult group in the Agbo-Oba area on July 14th. The police arrested five suspects: Bello Ibrahim (alias K-Black), Abdulwahab Jamiu, Abdulrasaq Ridwan (alias Depo), Sodiq Suleiman (alias Amugiri), and Salman Muftau. A Beretta pistol and various criminal charms were recovered from the suspects.

CP Olaiya emphasized the critical role of community policing in these successes, highlighting the vital contribution of local residents in supporting law enforcement efforts. The suspects and the seized items have been transferred to the Anti-Cultism Section for further investigation.
