Saraki, PDP Mourn Death of Party’s chieftain, Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye

Former Nigeria Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of a prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Honourable Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye.

In a statement issued by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki described Bintinlaye as an “irreplaceable asset” to PDP and Kwara State. He highlighted the late politician’s contributions to community development, philanthropy, and the political growth of the state, particularly in Offa and the Ojomu/Balogun Constituency.  “I received with great sadness the news of Hon. (Alhaji) Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye’s passing. An Offa-born chieftain of our great party, Hon. Bintinlaye was a respected politician, a successful business mogul, and a devoted humanitarian who contributed greatly to the political development of Kwara State- particularly in his hometown,

Offa, and the Ojomu/Balogun Constituency,” Saraki stated.

Saraki therefore extended his condolences to Bintinlaye’s family, friends, and political associates, praying for the eternal repose of his soul.

“As we mourn the loss of this illustrious son of Offa, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Hon.Bintinlaye’s family, friends, political associates, the entire PDP family, and everyone who mourns this loss. May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen,” he added.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State expressed grief over Bintinlaye’s death, calling it a “shocking and unfortunate loss.”

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party described Bintinlaye as a strong advocate for the underprivileged, a committed chieftain, and a staunch believer in the PDP’s “Rescue Kwara vision.”

“Hon. Bintinlaye was a strong voice for the oppressed, a committed leader, and a firm believer in good governance. His contributions to the party and dedication to justice will never be forgotten,” the statement read.

The party recalled his last philanthropic gesture stating that “his last gesture-an empowerment project that benefited hundreds of less-privileged individuals across Offa and which he had plan to extend to other LGs in Kwara south stands as a testament to his selfless service to humanity.”

Beyond politics, the PDP noted Bintinlaye’s life was marked by compassion, generosity, and deep faith.

“Beyond politics, Hon. Bintinlaye lived an impactful life defined by compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith. He was a devoted Muslim, he served Almighty Allah until his last breath, and his departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him,” the party stated.

The party therefore extended its condolences to his family, loved ones stating: “as we mourn this irreparable loss, we pray to Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and give his family, loved ones, and the entire PDP family the strength to bear this painful loss.”
