Gunmen Abduct Kwara LG Legal Head, Deputy Permanent Secretary

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly abducted Elizabeth Arinde, the Head of the Legal Department at Oke Ero Local Government Area in Kwara State, on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday, April 25, 2025, according to a statement released by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin chapter.
The announcement, issued by the Chairman of the NBA Ilorin Branch, S.M.H Kosemani Esq., revealed that Arinde was kidnapped while traveling from Oke Ero LGA to Ilorin, the state capital.
Kosemani disclosed that Arinde was abducted along with the Local Government’s Deputy Permanent Secretary (DPM).
“We are deeply concerned to inform you that Barrister Elizabeth Arinde, Head of the Legal Department at Oke Ero Local Government in Kwara State, has been kidnapped,” Kosemani stated.
He added that both victims’ mobile numbers had become unreachable, and no information had yet surfaced regarding their location.
Kosemani urged the public to assist by contacting law enforcement or the NBA office if they possessed any useful details regarding the victims.
The NBA further implored security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safe recovery of those abducted.
“We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
“Please share this information widely to aid in her rescue and pray for her release alive,” Kosemani concluded.
However, effort to get reaction of the Kwara State police command spokesperson, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi proved abortive as she did not answered phone calls put through her line on Saturday night.
Also, a text which reads: ” Good evening Ma, I write to get your reaction about the kidnapping incident of the Head of the Legal Department of Oke-Ero local government, Barrister Elizabeth Arinde and the Oke-Ero Local Government Deputy Permanent Secretary” was unreplied as the time of filling this report.
