Seni Saraki Co-Produces Wizkid’s Journey to the Big Screen, Set for Historic Tribeca 2025 Premiere

In a major win for Nigerian cinema and African storytelling, Wizkid: Long Live Lagos, co-produced by Seni Saraki and the team at NATIVE, will premiere at the prestigious 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. The Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy in a Instagram Post, announced the milestone, describing it as a proud moment for Nigeria’s creative industry.

“Wizkid’s story is about to hit the big screen, and it is a major win for Nigerian cinema,” the Ministry state.

The documentary, co-produced by Seni Saraki, follows Wizkid’s inspiring journey “from the streets of Lagos to the global stage,” capturing how African music, culture, and talent are reshaping global narratives. By focusing on Wizkid’s rise to international superstardom, the film celebrates not just his achievements, but also the broader impact of African creativity on the world.

The Ministry emphasized that “this is the first African music documentary brought to life under the HBO Documentary Films banner,” marking a significant breakthrough for African stories in mainstream global media.

The documentary is the result of a collaboration between powerhouse creative teams, including MGX Creative, Macro, Native, and The Ringer, alongside HBO Documentary Films.
