The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 47 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud across multiple locations in Kwara State on Thursday.
The operation, based on credible intelligence reports, targeted individuals allegedly involved in diverse forms of cybercrime. Arrests were made in key areas of Ilorin, including Awolowo Road, Tanke, Harmony Estate, and in the towns of Ganmo and Amoyo situated within the Ifelodun Local Government Area.
During the coordinated raids, the EFCC recovered several items believed to be linked to illicit online activities. Among the seized assets were 10 high-end vehicles, 74 various smartphones, 18 laptop computers, and one motorcycle.
The Commission has confirmed that once investigations are finalized, the suspects will be formally charged and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
