Hafsoh Lawal, the 24-year-old graduate of Kwara State College of Education who was allegedly murdered by Abdulrahman Bello, has finaly been laid to rest according to Islamic rites at a cemetery in the Sango area of Ilorin.
The burial took place on Monday, following the release of her remains to the family. This was confirmed by the deceased’s father, Mr. Ibrahim Adefalu, in a telephone conversation with National Pilot on Tuesday morning.
The development followed an appeal by the Attorney-General of Kwara State, Barrister Senior Sulyman, who led the prosecuting counsel in the ongoing murder case against the suspected murderer Abdulrahman Bello.
Barrister Sulyman pleaded with the court to allow the dismembered body of the late Hafsoh Lawal to be handed over to her family for burial, in line with religious and cultural customs. The plea was duly approved by the court, enabling the family to proceed with the funeral arrangements.
