Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has hailed Nigerian sprint sensation Favour Ofili for her record-breaking performance at the 2025 Adidas ATL City Games, where she became the first woman in history to run the 150 metres in under 16 seconds.
Reacting to the feat, Saraki took to social media to celebrate the young athlete’s stunning achievement, calling it a defining moment for Nigeria on the global athletic stage.
“Favour Ofili has once again etched Nigeria’s name boldly into athletic history—breaking the 150m world record today at the 2025 Adidas #ATLCityGames with an incredible 15.85 seconds. She’s the first woman ever to run under 16 seconds,” Saraki wrote in a post shared on his social media platforms.
Ofili’s record-breaking time of 15.85 seconds not only set a new world record but also marked a historic milestone, as she became the first woman ever to run the distance in under 16 seconds.
Saraki described the achievement as a powerful reflection of the nation’s character and resilience.
