By Ahmed Ajikobi

The Imam of Agaka mosque, Asa Dam area, Ilorin, Ustaz Yusuf Murtadoh (Olopoewa) has advised the federal government on how to go about the recovered money embezzled by the former head of state, General Sani Abacha.

Olopoewa stated further that the money should be used for the betterment of the citizens instead of sharing the money among the poor.

He said that Federal Government should make use of the money to create jobs for the citizens by establishing companies that will employ about 10 thousand workers.

Such move, he noted will create for them better living conditions and make them earn good salaries that can be invested in other ventures.

He stressed that such companies should be manned by God fearing people for better accountability.

The Imam, who disclosed this during his sermon at the Juma’at service, disagreed with the idea of sharing the money among the poor adding that the money might not be judicially spent at the end of the day.

Olopoewa said that part of the money can be use to strengthen power supply to make it stable in the country, stressing that if there is stable power supply, investors will invade the country for investment leading to the growth of the country’s economy.

He said that Federal Government should make good use of the money to create better road network in the country for easy movement of trailers and cars and further reduce accident.

“And those people that will be saddled with the responsibility should be well discipline, not those that will embezzle the money again.

“Muslims should engage in good deeds always because death will finally expose every action whether good or bad.

“The death of Abacha exposed the secret of his hidden action and stolen wealth. But it was not only Abacha that stole from the public treasury, other past Nigeria leaders were not left out but death will finally exposed their secrete too”, he added.

He called on the Federal Government to apply justice in the use of the money and advised the country to engage world renowned auditors to audit all past Nigeria leaders from “Shehu Shagari, Yakubu Gowon, Murtala Muhammed, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Buhari/Idiagbon among others” adding that money embezzled  by Abacha can solve the problem facing this country.
