The G20 Kwara Youths Association has called on Kwarans to vote massively for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The Association in a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mallam Abdullahi Ladan, enjoined members of the public particularly youths to solidly queue behind the PDP to ensure the party’s landslide victory at the polls.
The statement further emphasised that the youth have key roles to play in the coming election to ensure emergence of all the PDP candidates to ensure youths’ inclusive government in the state.
The association also appealed to all Kwarans not to be intimidated and threatened by the security presence but troop out en-masse to exercise their civic right.
It also encouraged the party faithful not to be discouraged by the outcome of the last Presidential and National elections, saying that the party’s leadership is working round the clock to correct all abnormalities that greeted the polls.
Ladan however implored the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to work on all faulty card reader machines and ensure early arrival of electoral materials at the various voting centres so as not to disenfranchise the electorate from voting.
He urged the youth not be involved in any act of thuggery and hooliganism, warning that it’s only those that are alive that would leave to witness the benefits of democracy.
The group therefore, commended the Kwara State government for creating a level playing ground for all political parties irrespective of their political differences, stressing that the state would continue to remain as a state of peace and harmony
