Kwara athletes protest over camp allowances

 

Kwara State athletes at the just concluded National Youth Games have embacked on peaceful protest from University of Ilorin Mini Campus to Government House over unpaid camp allowances.

It was garnered that the athletes have been stranded since morning as the University authority sent them out of the hostels after the game has come to an end.

The athletes however refused to go home, insisting that there camp allowances must be paid before they can go back to their various homes

This medium is still making effort to talk to either, the athlete or any officials from Kwara camp, as they refuse any interview as at the time of filling this reports.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Director of Sports Coach Tunde Kazeem has appealed to the athletes to be patient as he promised that all their camp allowances will be paid accordingly.

Kazeem made the promise on Tuesday while reacting to angry state athletes who refuse to go home over their snippets.

“I want to appeal to the athletes to exercise little patience as we are working hard to pay their money,” he promised.
