He was dragged to court by the police following information from members of Isolo Opin community that the teacher was taking advantage of his daughter.

This medium gathered that the victim’s mother, a Togolese, had separated from Olawale and that he took possession of his daughter, two years ago.

Speaking in a telephone interview with our reporter on Tuesday, the Asolo of Isolo Opin, Oba Raphael Sunday Are (JP) said efforts to halt the abominable act proved abortive adding that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command has taken over the matter.

He said, “The girl used to run away. There was a time she ran as far as Egbe, a community in Kogi State but we were able to bring her back home. The Civil Defense intervened in the matter then. The girl confessed she ran away because her father do have sexual intercourse with her.

“The girl was found inside the bush, we told the security to handle it legally. The matter has now been transferred to Ilorin. Unfortunately, after Olawale was released from detention, we discovered that the girl is pregnant and this is why he was re-arrested. In actual sense, he did it.”

Meanwhile, a police source said that Odewale will appear in court today for prosecution.

He said, “Though he was arrested on Monday but he was granted bail at the police station.  We learnt that he collected loan worth N1.5million recently, hence he may be prepared to spend the money on the case,” the source disclosed.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Olorunfemi Bello, said the command is on top of the situation.

He however said he is yet to be provided details of the incident by the Intelligence Department of the NSCDC.

as at the time this paper went to bed last night, Bello was yet to get back to our reporter.

Meanwhile, in his quest for more facts on the matter, our reporter was able to lay his hands on a voice tape where the teenager revealed how her father had been assaulting her.

The girl in the tape disclosed that Olawale consistently had sexual intercourse with her twice a week saying after the dishonorable act, he will give her water mixed with salt to drink as a way of neutralising whatever he might have deposited in her female genital organ.

The audio transcription between the girl and a member of the community who found her in the bush stated as follows;

Community member: For how many weeks have you left your house?

Girl: Going to two weeks, now

Community member: Why did you leave your house?

Girl: Because my dad maltreats me, he sleeps with me, in a week, he can have sexual intercourse with me two times.

Community member: What does he do next?

Girl: After he might have slept with me, he will ask me to bring salt and a container, he will mixed the salt with water then ask me to drink…
