MDCN rates Gov Ahmed on healthcare delivery

 

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Dr Tajudeen Sanusi has praised the Kwara State Government for benching healthcare delivery in the state against best practice.

Dr Sanusi, who gave the commendation yesterday, at the Government House, Ilorin when he paid a courtesy call on the Governor, emphasised that the government’s investment on health is wise investment.

The Registrar expressed satisfaction over the quality of equipment at the Ilorin General Hospital, saying that it would ensure quality healthcare delivery.

According to him, “We are excited at the quality of equipment put in place at the Ilorin General Hospital because the facility is different from what we used to know before.

“If we are to start medical school, the place is suitable because the environment is conducive enough”.

He also told the Governor that he was in the state for the re-accreditation of Sobi General Hospital for internship training of medical students.

He explained that medical students were confronted with challenges of getting placement for their one year internship programme because of lack of space.

The state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed had in his remarks promised to continue to improve on his government’s achievements in the health sector.

The Governor who said the Ilorin General Hospital is pencilled down for Kwara University Teaching Hospital assured that necessary equipment will be put in place to ensure that training is not compromised.
