Police arrest trader for producing liquor

 

The men of Kwara State Police Command have arrested a trader, Iyabo Bello for alleged unauthorised production and sale of liquor at Osere area of Ilorin, Kwara State, last Monday.
The suspect ,who was arrested following tip-off, was said to specialise in production and sales of assorted hot drinks without license.
“Team of operatives from surveillance of the police command based on the tip off stormed the shop of the suspect and got her arrested.
“During interrogation at the ‘B’ Division police station, the suspect could not produce the permit for production,” the source added.
Meanwhile, two middle aged men, Lukman Abiola and Olufemi Iyanda are cooling their heels in police net, following their arrest for robbery in Osere area of Ilorin, last Monday.
The duo were said to have dispossessed one Ajara Babatunde of her mobile phone valued at N35,000  and the sum of N10,000.
It was gathered that Ajara was attacked by the robbers at Osere junction on her arrival from a business trip, last Sunday.
According to police source, the case was reported by the youth chairman of the area, Abdulkadir Abdulrasaq at the “B” Division, Surulere.
“Following tip off, two of the robbers were arrested while their accomplice, Akindele Peter is at large. The suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation and are giving lead that could assist in the arrest of the third suspect,” he added.
When contacted on the case, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said he was unaware of the matter.
