Police arrests 2 for breaking into in-law’s shop, abducting 3 kids

Men of the Kwara State police command have arrested two persons, Oluwabunmi Adebayo and Ola Adebayo for allegedly breaking into a shop belonging to their brother-in-law, Ayorinde Oluseyi last Saturday, Pilot Crime has learnt.
The suspects were said to have broken into the shop located at Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State and carted away valuables worth N1.7m.
The items include plasma television, female clothings, decoder, furniture and jewelries among others.
According to a police source, Oluseyi received a call from the caretaker that the suspects came along with a truck to pack the items after breaking into the shop.
” The victim later got to know that the act was perpetrated by his wife’s younger sister, Oluwabunmi with the help of Ola,” the source added.
It was further learnt that the sister-in-law reportedly abducted three of Oluseyi’s children and threatened to kill him if he ever approached them (suspects) to claim his property.
“The victim reported at the Police station that he had a misunderstanding with his wife before he left for work on the fateful day and before he got back home she had moved her belongings out of their house.
“Meanwhile, while the victim was at the office that day, one of his colleagues intimated him that he sighted Oluwabunmi and the three children along the road,” the police further said.
However, following the complaint at the Police Area Command by the victim, the suspects were arrested and allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.
“Investigation is still ongoing to recover the children and property taken away by his wife’s sister,” according to the police source.
When contacted, the state Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, claimed ignorance of the issue.
In a related development, two suspected kipnappers, Lukman Fawole and Dadi Doye, were arrested by members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria at Namoru , Ilesha Baruba in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.
They were alleged to have abducted one Ibrahim Hamodu of the same community earlier in the month.
The suspects alongside their accomplices who are now at large, reportedly kidnapped the victim from his house.
A police source told this medium that the case was transfered from Ilesha Baruba division to Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department of the state police command for further investigation.
“During investigation, the suspects said they kidnapped the victim from his house and walked for about half kilometer before they encountered the vigilantes who rescued the victims and effected their arrest.
The second suspect aided escape of one of their accomplices. The police is still trying to get information from the suspects, which could lead to arrest of other members of the gang.
