Police in Ilorin arrest herdsmen with i-phone, laptop, camera

 

A Magistrate court sitting in Ilorin the state capital has remanded one Abubakar Mohammed and Mohhammed Isha.

Investigations revealed that the duo were armed bandits who had been terrorising people on the Ilorin-Ogbomosho road. He said their arrest led to the recovery of three motorcycles, five Nokia phones, one I-phone, one Sony camera, one HP laptop and jewelry.

Two herdsmen, Abubarkar Mohammed and Mohammed Isha, were brought before an Ilorin Magistrate Court on Wednesday, on the accusation of robbing people on the Ilorin-Ogbomosho Expressway.

Inspector Abdullahi Sanni, the Police Prosecutor, told the court that the suspects were arrested based on information from residents of Olorunsogo community along the highway.

According to Sanni, investigations revealed that the duo were armed bandits who had been terrorising people on the Ilorin-Ogbomosho road. He said their arrest led to the recovery of three motorcycles, five Nokia phones, one I-phone, one Sony camera, one HP laptop and jewelry.

According to NAN, they were arraigned on a two-count charge of Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery, as the prosecutor noted that the offences contravened Sections 6(B) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap. R11 Law of Nigeria, 2004.

However, Mohammed and Isha pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
