The ambition of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to become president of Nigeria may have been dead on arrival as rams, in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, opted for a rather curious meal: Fayose’s campaign poster.
To compound the presidential hopeful woes, the posters the rams opted for were those in front of Fayose’s campaign office in Ado-Ekiti.
Fayose remains the only politician in the country to have defeated the incumbent governor twice is seeing by many as a controversial character and one who is never afraid to castigate government at the centre and even past leaders of Nigeria.
The Ekiti governor had announced his presidential campaign bid on September 28, 2017 in Abuja under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The party under the leadership of Ahmed Makafi has however, restated its position that for the 2019 election, the position of the president has been zoned to the North while that of the National Chairman is to be contested by people from the south.
