Self-confessed cultists attack man, snatch car in Ilorin

Two self-confessed cultists on Saturday attacked and snatched a Toyota Camry belonging to a man simply identified as Abdulrasak, a resident of Irewolede area, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital at gun point, National Pilot has learnt.
The incident was said to have occurred around 8pm while the victim was returning home after the close of work in his car (Toyota Camry, ‘Big Daddy) with registration number KEY 857 AAA. Also, the cultists reportedly cart away mobile phones, documents and other valuables in the said car.
It was gathered that, the suspects armed with guns stopped Abdulrasak and gained entrance into his car at Irewolede area, just a few metres from his residence. 
According to a source, the suspects informed the victim that they are not armed robbers but cultists while also threatening to kill Abdulrasak if he makes any attempt to raise the alarm.
It was also learnt that the cultists on getting to the junction of Irewolede dropped the victim and headed for unknown destination with the car.
Further findings by this medium last night revealed that the incident has been reported at the ‘A’ Division Police Station, Challenge area, Ilorin. 
It was also gathered from a source that, the victim had been asked to check at the police station, a car which was reportedly recovered from armed robbers at Asa Dam area.
The Toyota Corolla car was said to have been recovered around 10pm  by the quick intervention of police officers on patrol after a tipoff.
When contacted on the phone, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Ajayi Okasanmi denied knowledge of the theft of any Abdulrasak on Saturday.
“I have not been briefed on the incident yet and no report has been sent to me concerning the attack,’’ he said.
He however confirmed that a car was recovered by policemen on patrol at Asa Dam, same day.
According to Okasanmi, there was a robbery attack along Asa Dam Road but the officers are always on top of their game and they recovered the car.
He therefore appealed to the public to report any case of theft to the nearest police station for intelligent action to be taken swiftly while also assuring that all stolen cars will be recovered and returned to rightful owners by the command.
