Think of judgement day, Olopoewa tasks Muslims

By Ahmed Ajikobi

A renowned Islamic cleric in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, Yusuf Olopoewa has charged Muslim faithful to always think of when they will stand before Allah to give account of their deeds before they do anything ungodly.

Olopoewa who is the Imam of Agaka Mosque along Asa Dam Road in Ilorin made the admonition last Friday during Jummat Service stressing that there is no deed by mankind that will not be accounted for on judgement day.

According to him, only those who fear God and do His will, will be able to stand tall on the day of reckoning saying God will judge all deeds either good or bad.

In order to have a sane society, the cleric urged that no one should cover lies but exposes whoever act deceitfully for proper and godly reprimand.

“Do what will uplift the downtrodden, your neigbours, help people generally, especially those who are at your reach, ensure you do a thing that will wipe tears away from people’s faces. In order to be right with God and  if you’ve strayed away, seek forgiveness for the bad deeds you’ve done in the past and let the fear of God rule your heart.

“Use the month of Ramadan to pray for the country, we need restoration peace and unity, that is only when we can enjoy being a Nigerian,” he stressed.
