Why I raped my teenage daughter for 3yrs, father confesses in Ilorin

Oladimeji Adegboyega, a motocylist, who confessed raping his 16-year-
old daughter (names withheld) for three years has blamed generational
curse for the illicit act.
Adegboyega, who leaves in Agbabiaka, Upper Gaa Akanbi area of Ilorin,
was said to have consistently abused her only daughter since she was
13.
When visited by our reporter at the Kwara State High Court, prison
department, Adegboyega lamented that it was lineage curse that made
him lay with his biological daughter.
He said, “Please help me, I’ve done it before I realised the
consequence, it is lineage curse that made me misbehaved. It’s not me
but a curse; please help me in order not to die here.
To continue her sexual escape with the teenager, Adegboyega was said
to have withdrew her daughter from school shortly after her Junior
Secondary School examination in Ilorin.
The victim while narrating her ordeal said the shameful act started
September 2017 at an uncompleted house in Agbabiaka area, Ilorin.
The girl said her mother was unaware of the sexual assault by his
father which spanned three years.
She added that Adegboyega always ensured that her wife was not around
before luring her into the act.
According to her, the suspect gives her water mixed with salt to
prevent pregnancy each time he had canal knowledge of her.
“I may not be able to say how frequent it was but it started long time
ago, even before I was withdrawn from the school. It all began in an
uncompleted building. Whenever my mummy is not around, he will call me
into privacy, I tried to prevent it but to no avail, I didn’t even
know it was wrong at first.
“Each time I asked my mother if it is right for father to be having
sex with his daughter, she never considered me serious. She gave no
attention to it and the act persisted unabated,” the victim disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Women Lawyers, (FIDA), Kwara State
chapter in connection with a Non Governmental Organisation; Theios
Caregivers Initiative and Young Future Builders Initiative have
approached the court for redress over the issue.
The matter came up before magistrate Shade Lawal of the Kwara State
Family court yesterday but was subsequently adjourned to 10th of July
following the absence of the defendant.
In a chat with this medium after the court session, Barr. Anthonia
Oshiniwe who represented the victim said Adegboyega must face
prosecution over his misdeeds.
She added that if found guilty, he will face the wrath of law and that
will serve as deterrent to many others who are indulging in such act.
Oshiniwe added that each time, the father want to have sex with the
daughter, he will tie her down and threatened her not to tell anyone
what transpired between them.
“The girl was taken to Abuja by a missionary who volunteered to be
taking care of her, the father insisted that she must come home. She
was also attending a secondary school in Ilorin, the father stopped
the education claiming that he has no money to finance the education.
“The girl is the first and only daughter out of 6 children,” she said.
