Suspected assassins gun down herbalist

 

Tragedy struck in the ancient town of Ifira, Akoko Southeast local
government, yesterday evening when a 36-year-old herbalist called
Omotayo Omoskin was gunned down by yet-to-be-known assassins.
A source from the neighbouring house of the slain herbalist revealed
that the late Omo Akin was called on phone to come out by his
assailants and he came out and he was shot dead immediately.
The deceased, a polygamist with two wives who resided at Isowo
Quarters, Ifira Akoko, was described as very humble and hospitable
with moderate lifestyle.
The police from Isua-Akoko led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO),
Superintendent of Police (SP) Olowoyo Akinbode, led his men to the
scene of the incident and carried the corpse to the mortuary of the
General Hospital Ipe-Akoko.
According to Akinbode, the case will be transferred to the state
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Akure for more investigation.
The Asiwaju of Ifira Akoko, Chief Boboye Ojomo, described the incident
as shocking and another period of mourning for the entire Ifira
community.
