LG Poll: 200 decamp to APC in Kwara

No fewer than two hundred members from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a campaign ceremony held in Badari ward, Ilorin West Local Government Saturday, the decampees who were presented by the Permanent Member (1) of Teaching Service Commission, Alhaja Falilat Joke Shuaib, were received by the Ilorin West APC Chairman, Alhaji Ballah and the party’s flag bearer, Hajia Aminat Omodara.
Alhaja Shuaib in her welcome address maintained that the Saraki’s school of politics and Kwara APC are two inseparable progressive ideologies that maintain balance between the old and new members and provide, without discrimination, equal benefits for all its members.
She further enjoined all members of the wards to see themselves as a single entity and work together during and after the November 18th council election in the state to repeat the sweep of 2015 and record usual landslide.
One of the decampees, Mallam Hammed Seji, on behalf of other members, appreciated the leader of the party in the state, Dr. Bukola Saraki on his many people- oriented achievements in Badari ward, particularly, the ongoing Balogun Hospital road linking Surulere and Eruda and the contribution of Hajia Shuaib to the people of the ward, which made it easy to convince them to embrace APC.
He assured that they are fully ready to work with the Senate President, Gov Ahmed and the entire APC in Kwara state to ensure victory, in not only the forthcoming local government election but also in the 2019 general elections.
Last week Saturday, Ajoke had reportedly led the decampees to the party’s ward meeting venue located at Ita Amodu, Ilorin where they tore their PDP membership cards and pledged their loyalty to APC under the leadership of Senator Saraki.
The APC Chairman of Badari ward, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Legacy welcomed the new members and promised that they will always be carried along in the party’s activities in the ward.
He described Alhaja Shuaib as a worthy ambassador of the ward and urged both the old and new members to work with her and other stakeholders in order to move the ward and Kwara state forward.
