Sex tape: Celebs did Tiwa Savage disservice by hailing her mistake, says Georgina Onuoha

Georgina Onuoha, the Nollywood actress, has waded into the controversies trailing Tiwa Savage‘s leaked sex tape.
Tiwa Savage had a few weeks ago alleged that some individuals were in possession of a video of her sex romp.
The singer had also vowed that she would not succumb to the threats just for doing “something natural.”
A few days after Tiwa had raised the alarm, a video showing an intimate moment between the ‘Koroba’ crooner and her new lover had surfaced online and sent the social media into a frenzy.
Some users had criticised the singer while others wondered how such a “sensitive” video found its way online at first.
Amid the backlash, several celebrities including Mercy Aigbe and Harrysong had defended the mother of one with solidarity posts.
But in her reaction on Friday, Onuoha said entertainers did Tiwa a disservice by celebrating what she termed her “mistake”.
“My ill-informed colleagues did her a disservice. The narrative should have been, ‘Say No to Blackmailers who breached her privacy. Instead, their ignorance came off as celebratory of her mistakes.
“They did Tiwa bad. I’m still praying for her to get us a grammy soon. She will rise from this. According to PR expert Lauretta, sometimes not all publicity is good publicity.”
Onuoha also suggested that the best way forward would be for the songstress to apologise to her fans and move on.
“Kim Kardashian went on an apology tour on every TV and significant talk show in America and issued public apologies to save her brand 15 years ago. Tiwa is no longer a Nigerian brand; she is global,” the actress added.
“I hope she pulls through this, learns her lessons, apologizes for this mistake. If I were on her PR team, I would suggest a public apology, most of you will say it’s not needed, as her bla bla bla did not leak the tape.
“My favorite line to my children. I am paying for some mistakes I made in the past (not sex tapes lol) but I learned from them, apologised where necessary and faced the consequences, and moved on.”

Meanwhile, Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie has commended Tiwa Savage for her courage and strength over the controversies involving her sex tape.
Recall that an alleged sex tape involving Tiwa Savage and her boyfriend leaked online and has since gone viral.
Tiwa Savage was criticised for her actions by colleagues and fans, as some described her as not being a good example to the younger generation.
However, Edochie in a recent post, said Tiwa’s way of handling the blackmail had inspired those going through such silently.
He urged the ‘Somebody’s Son’ crooner to stay stronger, adding that ‘Nobody holy Pass’.
In a long post on his Instagram page, Edochie wrote: “I commend you Tiwa Savage for the way you handled the issue you may not know this but you’ve inspired so many people who may be going through blackmail silently.
“You said capital NO to blackmail and it takes a lot of strength to do that. It is well you’re a human being like the rest of us nobody holy pass.
“In life there will be ups and downs you enjoy the ups and learn from the downs. Anything that doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
“Keep your head up, keep being strong, this too shall pass.”
