Govt officials, monarchs, labour leaders, celebrate Fakayode’s mother at 101

Chief (Mrs.) Rebecca Jolade Fakayode, mother of Sir Bisi Fakayode , the Special Adviser to Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed on Labour Matters and Students Affairs, who clocked 101th on Saturday has been described as a woman of good virtues whose selfless service to humanity could not be quantified.

The Alaran of Arandun, Oba Ibikunle Adekanye and other prominent personalities, who graced the birthday celebration, gave the commendation at the event, which took place at Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking with National Pilot during the ceremony, Oba Adekanye said Chief (Mrs) Fakayode, who is the Otun Iyalode of Omu-Aran has remained steadfastly committed to the pursuit of the ideals of excellence and selfless service to humanity.

The monarch attributed the longevity of the celebrant to her pure heart and charity services to mankind, adding that Chief (Mrs) Fakayode, harboured no hatred or bitterness against anyone and implored younger generations to emulate her good legacy.

Other prominent traditional rulers from Kwara South who were also at the event described mama as a generous and virtuous woman.

A retired Military General,  Abidoye Lanre, who was also spoke with National Pilot at the occasion testified that Chief (Mrs) Fakayode has touched many lives through are philanthropic activities, stressing that she is a mentor and epitome of good character to emulate in the society.

Members of the Kwara State labour unions also joined the gathering of the creme de la creme of the society both from within and outside the state to honour Chief Mrs. Fakayode as they were seen jubilating and praise singing the celebrant.

The event was also well attended by  members of the state House of Assembly,   State Chairmen of Nigeria Labour Congress, Cmr. Yakeem Agunbiade, National Union of Teachers, Cmr. Abubakar  Musa and the Deputy President of NULGE, Cmr. Kehinde Yusuf among others.

Meanwhile, Fakayode described his mother as a loving , caring and prayerful woman and expressed gratitude to God for her longevity.
