The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has warned the general public against incessant attack on its officers while performing their official duties.
This is contained in a statement signed and issued yesterday by the Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Alhaji Babatunde Yekeen Bello.
The statement stated that the agency specifically wants to notify taxi drivers, okada riders and street urchins (Area Boys) to desist from the act of resisting and violently attacking KWARTMA staff to avoid facing the full wrath of law.
It further urged community leaders, heads of government agencies, politicians and other opinion leaders in the state to always support the agency in carrying out its professional duties in ensuring road safety and easy flow of traffic across the state.
It also called on the public to always verify information or visit the agency’s office for clarification on KWARTMA activities when necessary.
