The 7th Kwara Sports Festival, which was earlier scheduled to hold between 5th to 12th of January, 2020, has now been rescheduled to come up between Monday, 27th of January to 1st of February, 2020.
A statement by the Chairman, Main Organising Committee, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji AbdulQuadir Shuaib Akanbi, said that athletes and officials are expected to arrive on Saturday, 25th, while accreditation will take place on Sunday, 26th of January, 2020.
The Chairman also disclosed that the torch-of-unity, which was formerly slated to start on the 23rd of December, 2019, has also been shifted to feature between 9th to 17th of January, 2020.
He further revealed that the departure of participants will be on 2nd of March, 2020.
While thanking Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for creating an enabling environment for sporting activities in the State to thrive, Alhaji Akanbi then apologised for the inconveniences the development might cause, enjoining all the stakeholders to bear the changes with the Committee.
