Cultism: Kwara Police to parade suspects, others

The Kwara State Police Command will soon parade the cultists arrested in connection with gruesome killings and bloody clashes in Ilorin, the state capital in recent time.
The police, it would be recalled, has made a number of arrests of members of various secret cults in the past few months.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi disclosed this on Friday during a telephone chat with Pilot Crime.
Okasanmi said the cultists will be paraded alongside other criminals at the police headquarters this week .
“There is going to be a press conference on the suspects arrested and they will be paraded also, probably on Monday or Tuesday,” he added.
Okasanmi reiterated the command’s avowed determination to ensure maximum security within the state, adding that there will be no hiding place for criminals in Kwara.
He called for the cooperation of members of the society in ridding the state of crime, urging them to avail the police of information that could lead to arrest of criminal elements in the state.
It would be recall that this medium had reported arrest of a suspected notorious cultist, Hakeem Afolabi popularly known as 17, who was arrested at Agbo- Oba Area of Ilorin last week.
The suspects is said to be second-in-command to a cultist popularly called ‘indomie’ of the Eiye confraternity in the state.
This medium also published penultimate Monday identities of 11 suspects arrested in connection with cult related killings and clashes in the state in recent time.
The suspects, said to be top notches of the Eiye and Aiye confraternities were arrested by the police at their hideouts in Kulende area of the state capital.
