A flood of congratulatory messages has followed news online following the birth of twin girls to Nollywood actress Funke Akindele with husband Rasheed Bello, better known as JJC Skillz.
Many adulatory messages have been posted on the Instagram accounts of Funke and Skillz, but there has been no official statement from the couple, who married in 2016.
Funke, who is 41 years old, lent some credibility to the trending story when she wrote in her Instagram story: โThank you Lord. Oluwa e tobi (God is great), I am now being called a new name.โ
Some of Funke’s fellow artistes joined in the adulation. Mercy Aigbe posted on Instagram the good news and wrote: Best news of the year! Jehovah overdoโฆTwins. To God be all the glory!! Congrats@funkejenifaakindele and @jjcskillz on the arrival of your twins! Iya Ibeji mo ba e yoโ.
By noon on Saturday, there were already over 4,000 congratulatory messages on Funke’s Instagram account, tagged to the post promoting the movie Chief Daddy.
Last year Funke reportedly lost a set of twins after their birth. And a Pastor Olagorioye Faleyimu who predicted that the actress would remain childless, was the target of attack on Saturday.
Recall that theย Lagos-based pastorย ย said that Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, will never have children of her own, and might end up with another broken home. He even went ahead to declare that she can only have a child if she sleeps with her gate man.
โRecall that I have once said that Funke Akindele will keep acquiring more wealth, this was even before she started getting endorsement deals. She chooses wealth and fame when she was coming to the planet earth. She is a promised child who has a limited time to live, and that is why I have been clamoring that.
