 NPFL: Oladimeji praises Kwara United 3-3 draw in Nasarawa

 

Chairman of Kwara United FC, Prince Thomason Oladimeji has heaped praises on the players, coaches and entire supporters of the team after the club’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday nine fixtures played in Lafia on Sunday.
Speaking in a phone conversation with Pilot Sports yesterday evening; the chairman described the result as a hard one considering their opponent.
“This is a very good result because Nasarawa is not an easy opponent. The result will help us because we are in a very difficult position,” Oladimeji said.
Nojeem Olukokun scored two quick goals for Nasarawa United to put the score line at 3-1 but Kwara United rallied back with late two goals by Alfred who has now netted five times for the Harmony Boys this season and Micheal Ohanu.
It is the Ilorin side’s first away point this season.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars and Enyimba battled to a 1-1 draw in their NPFL  match day nine clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Pillars took the lead in the 36th minute courtesy of league top scorer Junior Lokosa, his eighth goal of the campaign, but were pegged back four minutes later courtesy of Emmanuel Anyanwu’s own goal.
Both sides are now unbeaten in their last six games in the NPFL.
The hosts remain in the third position in the table, level on points with champions Plateau United who have a game in hand, while Enyimba moved from fifth to fourth.
In Port Harcourt, Rivers United secured a morale boosting 2-0 win against hard fighting Niger Tornadoes.
Chikere Osita opened scoring for the hosts in the 16th minute after he was set up by Bernard Ovoke.
Emeka Ogbugh marked his return to the side following his participation at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) with a goal as he added the second on 28 minutes.
