The centenary celebration of Sheikh Adam Abdullahi El-Ilory with the theme; “Moving Nigeria to greatness through the works of Adam,” kicked off yesterday in Lagos.
The week-long programme which is taking place at the University of Lagos Auditorium and Markaz, Agege is to showcase the contributions of the scholar towards Islamic education in West Africa.
According, Sheikh Mohammed Habbebulah El-Ilory, his father had set the tone for the previous, present and future government and people of Nigeria.
“The centenary celebration is deliberately dedicated to the people and government of Nigeria, towards a critical need for good governance via education and promotion of Islamic heritage with emphasis on solutions to critical issues of national interest.
“Hence, the main theme of this centenary week celebration is hereby carefully and creatively coined as; “Moving Nigeria to greatness… the works of Sheikh Adam El-Ilory,” the son of the scholar disclosed.
