Iyere Ahamioje U-13 Championship begins in Ilorin

 

This year’s edition of Iyere Ahamioje U-13 boys talent hunt Championship kicked off yesterday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The tournament, which is geared towards discovery and nurturing young talents at the grassroots, is been sponsored by Prince Iyere Ahamioje, a sports philanthropist and a lover of Kiddies football.
Sixteen grassroots Kiddies have registered for the competition and the most valuable player awarded academic scholarship.
The organiser of the tournament, Prince Soni Omo Ahamioje, in a chat with sports writers said it is a unique avenue to hunt and nurture young talents from the age of 8 to 12 years.
It is the first of it kind as the registration for the tournament is free and all participating teams will get appearance fee.
According to him, it is going to be total football couple with entertainment, skills, colour and glamor.
At the end of the competition, the best players will be sponsored to partake in the next admission screening of the prestigious Kwara Football Academy.
He also promised to organise a hitch free tournament that will be worthy of emulation.
While thanking the sponsor of the competition, Prince Ahamioje called on the well to do in the society to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Iyere Ahamioje and assist children and youths in both sporting and academic programs.
