Kwara Speaker rallies support for Gov Ahmed

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad has rallied support for the ruling All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming local government election in the state scheduled for Saturday.
The Speaker who was speaking with newsmen during the party’s campaign in Kwara Central visited strategic areas to seek for support for the candidates of the party.
Area visited included the party secretariat in Sabo line where he canvassed for support for Hajia Funmilayo Oniwa.
According to him, the people of the state should continue to support the APC government adding that the president administration under Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has kept the state moving in spite of the lean resources due to the precarious economic situation in the country.
He said the government has been able to facilitate federal projects to the state in its quests to make solid impact in the lives of the peoples.
He called on the opposition parties in the state to join hands with the present government to move the state forward and advised that the door is open for them to come in and partner to move the state forward.
Ahmad said the challenge for the party is the members not to take success for granted but to go out and vote.
Speaking on the Candidacy of Hajia Salau, the speaker noted that “virtually she doesn’t have any serious challenger. The challenge for us is for people not to take success for granted but come out and vote in order to completely defeat the opponent.
In her remarks, Hajia Salau promised to make a marked difference in the administration of the especially in the area of agriculture and education.
She promised to keep the APC flag flying always.
Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Adebayo said the APC has always responded to the yearnings of the electorate in providing good governance.
