Kwara Police arrests man for raping 18-yr-old

A middle aged man, Sulu Suleiman was last Friday arrested by the police of the Kwara State command for allegedly raping 18-year-old girl, Billah Safurat.
The suspect was said to have waylaid the victim, while she was returning from her Arabic school on the fateful day.
According to a police source, father of the victim reported the case at Adewole police station.
“The father, who was disturbed that his daughter had not arrived from the Arabic school by 6pm decided to search for her.
“She was later found somewhere in the neighbourhood crying and her clothe had blood stains. Upon enquiries, it was discovered that she had been raped.
” The girl explained that while she was returning home from the arabic school she was accosted by Suleiman who lured her to a building and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
It was gathered that the girl was taken to a hospital within the vicinity where it was confirmed that her hymen had been broken and her private part injured.
The suspect was arrested and being held at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of police headquarter for further investigation.
“Suleiman has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” the source added.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi denied knowledge of the matter.
