How death of CoS, Logun united Kwara politicians, PDP, APC

For politicians including the ruling and opposition parties in Kwara, last week was a turning point of sort as the death of the Chief of Staff to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Aminu Adisa Logun turned a rallying point for hitherto adversaries in the political arena in the state.

The announcement by the government that late Logun had succumb to the cold hands of death as a result of Covid-19 complications sent shivers down the spines of the residents especially government officials. He was the first high profile Kwaran that will fall to the ravaging pandemic.

But since the incident, politicians in the state and political parties have buried their hatchet albeit temporarily to honour the late CoS who died at 73.

After the condolence from the President, Muhammadu Buhari, it was a floodgate of tributes for the late industrialists as politicians from the ruling and opposition parties took turn to mourn him in a show remarkable solidarity with Governor Abdulrazaq.

The role includes the former Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, former Speaker, Ali Ahmed, former PDP gubernatorial aspirants, Razak Atunwa and former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi.

Others are Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr Danladi Salhu, former gubernatorial aspirants, Salihu Mustapha, Lukman Mustapha, Moshood Mustapha (MM), Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, serving Senators, House of Representatives members and members of the State House of Assembly including Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Lola Ashiru, Sodiq of Kwara North, commissioners, SAa and other government appointees.

Past political leaders and appointees from the last administration, traditional rulers led by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammed, religious leaders and groups and association within and outside the state.

From the academia, the University of Ilorin through the Vice Chancellor, Prof AbdulKareem Age was no left out.

The Kwara State chapters of the ruling APC and opposition PDP, groups, associations and organization which cut across political, religious and social spheres all condoled the chief mourner and governor of the state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq who himself pen a personal tribute for his CoS.

Although the state is mourning the late Logun, Kwarans jettisoned politics, religion, ethnicity and tribes to rally round their governor.
